Sister is looking to get rid of her 2001 Golf TDI, it's served her well but it's time for something new. I like the 2016 Jetta with the 1.4T, but I'd be stupid if I didn't tell her to look at other options in this price range. The Jetta is pretty basic (steel wheels, lol) and probably not many creature comforts. I'm thinking perhaps something Korean (KIA, Hyundia) in the same price range would get her a lot more bang for the buck..

Thoughts?

A few weeks ago you could get a 2015 Elantra for an insane price. They had something like $5k off of them.

They are selling newly designed 2017 Elantras now, so you should be able to get the 2016 for pretty good price

That's not what I said. There's a lot on the road due to perceived affordability with the 0% and a billion months of payments. That's why they are selling. Not to mention heavy discounts at the end of MY. You don't see Honda or Toyota doing that to move inventory, except Acura

Not hating on Hyundai. Just stating the obvious lol. They offer a lot of features, but performance is lacking for the most part. Not just talking about hp, but fuel efficiency as well.

For around 15K or just over. You can get into an EX rental mazda 3 with unlimited km warranty for I think 3 years.
