I'm headed out to Brockville to do some deer hunting Thurs/Fri but I'm driving through TO at a really shitty time. Would it be worth it to take the 407 from the 400 all the way east then jump back down to the 401? I'm leaving Barrie around 3 or so. Should be able to make it to the 401 by about 4.

Take 407 from 400 to at LEAST 404, then south to 401 and then go east. Use google app to check traffic on 404 southbound and 401 east (it's super accurate). 401 east from 404 isn't bad usually.

If you don't mind the extra 5 bucks just drive to brock and go south to 401, but there will be a bit of traffic there so it may be a wash between going south to 401 in Pickering or at the 404.

I would just go till the end of the 407 and then go down brock back to the 401.

its a few more dollars but screw the major arteries through the city at that time. Its worth it.

if you're taking the 407 already... dont even bother with the 401

leaving at 3 will put you in the 401 in durham region around 4:30-5:00pm

worst possible time to be EB 401 in that area

well even brock rd at 5pm past ajax, whitby, oshawa etc is the worst


may want to consider rippin it across the top and coming down to the 401 past durham

401 will come to a grinding halt when collectors and express merge. Maybe even take hw7 for a bit to skip Pickering to Whitby 401 parking lot. Coming from downtown TO, I usually take Bayly for a bit to skip the traffic when heading east.

I am pretty sure there was some major construction out that way (whitby, via hwy 7) with a ton of detours (late summer). I'd make sure that's cleared or it would be a cluster fuck.

Bill, check google traffic map on all the suggested routes today between 4 and 5 and make your conlusion. Keep in mind 407 has been slowling down lately after markham road too (i think due to construction).

You mix venison with pork (or beef, whatever you'd like) unless you're eating the back straps or making a roast, it's super super lean. As for it tasting gamey, that all depends on what they've eaten. All these deer have been eating alfalfa, beans, apples, corn, etc. They are going to taste fantastic!

I wouldn't eat a deer that's been eating alders all it's life, lol.

Your screwed either way.

Once you get off 407, if you head to 401 expect to sit in traffic doing 20km till Simcoe in Oshawa.

If you take highway 7 after you get off the 407 then you'll sit in traffic due to the construction for the 407 extension.

As well as there's other local roads that are closed, Audley in Ajax, Harmony in Oshawa etc etc. Just enough to fuck up your day if your not familiar with the side streets.

The best thing would be if you leave 1.5 hrs earlier. Sorry mang

Where's choco to tell us how great traffic is over there? OP, according to choco traffic is never an issue there and only takes him 20mins to get downtown and back from pickernosering.
