I was there for a friend's wedding in June. This was a true 5 star (not a Cuban one). The people were nice and it was pretty well run. The explosion happened in the lobby where we hung around all the time. (They had a bar there)

The really crazy part about all this is the lobby is between the buffet restaurant and the rooms so we usually meet at the exact lobby where the explosion happen to go to breakfast. If this happened when I was there, I'd be deaded as we'd all be chilling there before breakfast.

what was served the night before at the resort?
When I was there, the buffet had Mexico night for a day and they had tacos. They had theme days everyday of the week. Their ChinaR day was lol. I walked in and booked a "fine dinning" restaurant.
I hope people don't believe it's swamp gas, like how the fuck did they determine that so quickly?
Fuck Mexico.
It may not be swamp gas build up....but they did you a shit load of shit water to water the grass. After 12, they'd turn on the sprinklers and all you can smell was swampy methane smell in the air.

That isn't too shabby.
Demographics on RC isn't any better. Cruise's are ok IMO. It's nice that you go to different ports, but you really don't get that much time to spend on the island.
When I went, we basically snorkeled and swam. It was a swim, sun, eat, sun, swim vacation. I was with a group of friends so we got our own table during dinner service which was pretty good because I don't want to mingle with senior citizens. lol
